Strong, versatile and durable, steel structures have been gaining more and more ground in architecture and urban planning projects. In addition to their modern and bold aesthetics, this type of material allows greater creative freedom and can be applied to different projects, ensuring beauty and better use of the available space.
Widely used in commercial establishments such as shopping malls and stores, these structures have also become increasingly common in homes, thanks to their wide range of applications, adaptability and flexibility.
In Brazil, this structural alternative began to be explored because it offers better cost-effectiveness, as it enables optimized processes and is financially advantageous due to long-term savings.
Data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex/ME) show that, between January and August of this year, imports of Chinese products totaled US$ 39.74 billion, up 35.1% compared with last year.
These imports increased mainly because of solar panels and equipment.
The reason is simple: China is, for now, one of the only suppliers of these items and sold Brazil around 95% of what the country imported in photovoltaic panels between January and August.
Another advantage: steel structures are much more sustainable than wood and concrete structures, for example, and can be dismantled and reused.
Speed of execution is also a benefit since, as the structures arrive ready, with the correct dimensions and specifications, they only need to be assembled on the construction site. This process requires less labor and fewer materials, which greatly speeds up project execution. Compared with processes such as masonry, for example, using these structures can reduce construction time by up to 40%.
With high aesthetic quality, steel structures are also associated with modernity and can even be considered unique decorative pieces. With straight or curved lines, exposed steel conveys sophistication, elegance and creativity.
